In 2012, the venues for non-fiction films were still highly concentrated in the big cities. Therefore, at DocsMX we set ourselves the task of convening hundreds of alternative and independent spaces that would allow us to reach more and more people. This is how Doctober was born. Ten years, 150 venues in 32 Mexican states, and 29 venues in nine Ibero- American countries later, Doctober has become the most important collaborative exhibition network in the country. That is why on its tenth anniversary we want to recognize the alternative and independent venues and spaces that have made it possible.
