Dana Rotberg

Director, scriptwriter, academic and member of the national and European film community. Winner of an Ariel for Elvira Luz Cruz: pena máxima, she has also been awarded at Sundance, The Guadalajara Film Festival, Fantasporto for some of her works including Ángel de fuego and White Lies. Dana's works have participated in several festivals around the world: Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Tokyo, Sydney, London, New York, among others.

Luisa Cantú

Host of La octava noticias, collaborator of Sistema Público de Radiodifusión de México and Rompeviento TV. Experienced and committed journalist, winner of the Rostros de la Discriminación award in 2016. Columnist, reporter of social, electoral, legislative, and political issues. She has collaborated with international media such as Vice News, Cosecha Roja and Lateinamerika Nachrichten, among others.

Axel Ancira

B.A. and M.A. in Latin American Studies from UNAM. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in humanities with an orientation in film theory at UAM Xochimilco. He was winner of the Biennial Film Thesis Competition 2014-2016, organized by the UNAM Film Archive, in the graduate category. His film El cine de la utopía was part of the Festival del Nuevo Cine Latinoamericano, Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces and the Festival de Cine Independiente Latinoamericano. He is currently an academic and his most recent publication is Nueve miradas a la obra de Paul Leduc.

Claudio Zilleruelo

Director and producer at Zycra Films, independent film company and film distributor. Founder and artistic director of Black Canvas Festival. Programming director at Shorts Mexico for nine years where he programmed more than 1500 short films. Curator and programmer of different festivals, film cycles, retrospectives, and approaches to contemporary filmmakers from different parts of the world. He is currently the director of the film degree program at the Universidad de la Comunicación.

Itzia Fernández

Mexico City, 1970. Sociologist graduated from UAM-Azcapotzalco, she has collaborated since 2010 as a curator, researcher, and teacher in several institutions. With lines of research on cinema with a gender perspective, silent, global, and Mexican reappropriation, documentary, non-fiction, and heritage. She completed a PhD in film studies at the University Paris 3 Sorbonne Nouvelle. She has been making reemployment cinema since 2013. Founding partner of La Pizca Film Research (lapizcafilmresearch.com).

Dolores Rojas

Since 2012, she has been in charge of environmental issues at the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Mexico and the Caribbean. She has completed diploma courses in human rights of women in prison, urban social policies, political analysis, political communication, and public budgets with a gender perspective, at UNAM and the Universidad Iberoamericana. She has worked in the Mexico City Government and in civil society organizations such as Casa y Ciudad AC, and Oxfam Mexico.

Gustavo M. Ballesté

Founder of Cinema Planeta, International Film and Environment Festival of Mexico; since then, he has directed 13 editions of the festival, seeing it grow from an audience of 9,000 people in 2009 to 78,000 during 2019 and in 2021 to 274,899 with his online platform ideaplaneta.com covering the entire national territory. Cinema Planeta has obtained two national awards and is a benchmark within the environmental film festival circuit both in Mexico and in the world.

Mariana Gándara

Mexico City, 1984. She is a director, playwright, interdisciplinary artist, manager and teacher. In 2008 she created the Colectivo Macramé with presence in Mexico and Switzerland. Her texts have been translated into English and Portuguese with productions and editions in Mexico and Brazil. Her stagings have been presented on stages in Mexico and France. Since 2018 she has been executive coordinator of the Extraordinary Chair Ingmar Bergman in cinema and theater at UNAM. In 2020 she received the National University Distinction Award to Young Academics in artistic creation and cultural extension.

Ana Claudia Bárcenas

Studied cinematography at Arte 7 and literature at UNAM. She participated in the 7th FIC Monterrey with her debut film Regiocolombia. Her second feature-length film, Canciones de amor y desprecio won Best National Feature-length film at La Muestra de Cine del Pacífico 2019. She is currently developing her first fiction project: Bóveda celeste with Malparidas Films, selected for the selected for the VIII Bolivia Lab 2019 International Script Workshop and she is studying for a master's degree in documentary film at the Universidad de la Comunicación.

Pablo Gleason

Grenoble, Francia, 1978. Realizador, productor e investigador de teoría cinematográfica. Su creación documental ha estado ligada a la resistencia social y la memoria, cuestionando siempre las formas narrativas y la realidad social de la que emanan las historias. Estudió la maestría en cine en la Universidad París XIII y actualmente está en el doctorado en cine documental de la ENAC, donde problematiza los paradigmas del cine documental y propone un método de análisis de la obra documental desde la hermenéutica analógica.

Victoria Cabrera

She is the operational director of MICGénero. Dedicated to the management of exhibition spaces and film distribution, always focused on documentary and social impact films. She has collaborated with Ecocinema, an organization that presents films in hard-to-reach places through the use of solar panels. She has also managed the national competition at FICM within the coordination of guests.

Antonio Arango

Graduated in graphic communication design and visual artist. He has won awards and recognitions in film and video, as well as in installation, performance, and multimedia. He has received various supports and commissions to produce his pieces such as the Fonca, the Ingmar Bergman Chair in cinema and theater, the Biennial of the Moving Image and the Cenart, among others. His pieces have been exhibited in Mexico as well as in various festivals and exhibitions around the world. His industrial work includes design and broadcast production in both film and television.

María Sirvent

She is director and founding partner of Documenta análisis y acción para la justicia social AC. She is a member of the Technical Committee of the National Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture in Mexico (2018-2022). Lawyer with honorable mention for the thesis Los derechos humanos de las personas privadas de libertad (Human rights of persons deprived of liberty). She has represented several cases before the Inter-American Human Rights System and was one of those in charge of successfully litigating the Rosendo Radilla Pacheco case against Mexico before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.

Rodrigo González

He is a professional dedicated to the promotion and management of spaces for reflection, exhibition, and dissemination of audiovisual practices in Ibero-America. Focused on the field of animated image and cinema. Festival programmer, cultural manager, and teacher. He is currently coordinator of cinema and literature at the Centro Cultural de España en México (CCEMx), an institution belonging to the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID). He has been general director of Animasivo, Festival de Animación Contemporánea de la Ciudad de México between 2017 and 2020.
